What Can I Expect When I Make an Appointment?
At Kittington’s Mobile Cat Grooming, we take pride in ensuring that both our human and feline clients are happy and comfortable. No two cats are alike, which is why we provide individually tailored grooming treatments to meet each cat's unique needs.
Our grooming services are performed in our fully equipped mobile grooming van, allowing your cat to enjoy a safe, calm environment at the location of your choice, whether that's your home or office. Your cat won't have to experience the stress of a car ride or the anxiety of being separated from you for hours at a traditional salon.
Unlike traditional grooming salons, which often involve cage time and long waits, our mobile service offers one-on-one care. Every appointment is dedicated exclusively to one household, allowing us to focus on the cats in front of us.
On the day of your appointment, you'll receive a text when we're on our way. Most of the time this text is sent about 15 minutes before arrival, giving you enough time to gather your kitty, locate the carrier, and finish whatever last-minute negotiations may be required. Depending on travel time and the previous appointment, that heads-up may occasionally be closer to 5 minutes or as much as 20 minutes. On the rare occasion we're running behind or farther away than expected, we'll send a text as soon as we know.
We work very hard to be on time, but cats, traffic, parking, weather, and the occasional unexpected adventure don't always cooperate. Please allow a grace period of about 10 minutes around your scheduled appointment time. However, if you haven't received an "on our way" text by your appointment time, something is probably wrong. Please don't hesitate to reach out.
When we arrive, we'll send another text, so please make sure our text-only number, 415-797-7228, is not blocked.
For first appointments, we think it's especially important to meet with your kitty's primary human. The person who knows if today is a salmon day or a turkey day, what motivates their cat, and the little details that help us create the best grooming experience possible.
Before getting started, the groomer will chat with you about your cat's grooming history, health, temperament, and any specific concerns.
When it's time for check-in, please bring your cat out in a secure carrier. For safety reasons, we cannot accept cats outside of a carrier. We know Fluffy may have strong opinions about getting into one, but it's a small price to pay to avoid a jailbreak involving a screaming cat racing down the street.
If parking is available directly in front of your address, oh boy do we love rock star parking. If not, we'll safely collect your kitty and then find a nearby parking space before getting started.
Appointments typically take between 10 and 60 minutes, depending on the services selected, coat condition, temperament, and the number of cats scheduled from the household.
We have a variety of options to fit your feline's needs. Most services begin by choosing either the Fontaine Spa (wet bath) or Sahara Spa (dry bath). Appointments can then be customized with optional fur cuts and enhancements.
Pricing is based on your spa selection, plus any optional fur cuts and add-ons. Please keep in mind there is a minimum service charge.
